*If “best” regular seasons involved winning percentages only, then it’s possible some pre-modern teams would qualify. In the 1920s, for instance, a couple Hogs teams suffered only a single loss during the regular season. But those teams also played the likes of the Jonesboro YMCA, the “Earle Cardinals” and the “Little Rock All Stars,” so it’s pretty safe to assume that the level of competition wasn’t exactly high across the board.
